On March 13, 2023, in the reading room of the institution «The State Archive of the Gomel Region» (hereinafter referred to as the GAG), a round table «My beloved Belarus» was held.
The round table was attended by: First Deputy Head of the Main Department of Justice of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee Gurzhiy A.N., Prosecutor of the city of Gomel Bulynko Yu.V., First Secretary of the Novobelitskaya regional organization of the Communist Party of Belarus Shkireev N.V., Chairman of the Council of the Novobelitskaya regional organization of the city Gomel of the public association «Belarusian Union of Officers» Lebedev Yu.V., Chairman of the Novobelitsk regional organization of the NGO «Belaya Rus» Tkach L.A., Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the Novobelitsky district of the city of Gomel Kozyrev V.P., First Secretary of the Novobelitsk regional organization of the NGO «Belarusian Republican Youth Union» Music A.S.
As part of the event, Senior Researcher of the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents by the GAG Drozdova A.M. acquainted the invited guests with the exhibition «85 Years of Creation and Development. Gomel region», which presents archival documents and photographs covering the period of formation of the Gomel region.
The event was opened by the director of the GAGom Sushchevich A.N. noting that the most important task facing the archival service was and remains to preserve and preserve the documentary wealth of our country for history. Today, state archives are the keepers and sources of information about historical events and socio-political activities of people.
As part of the round table, the director of the archive Sushchevich A.N. presented the booklet «Lessons of Historical Memory», based on the events held by the archive in 2022. The booklet remains relevant in the current year 2023, the Year of Peace and Creation, and contains a huge amount of accumulated practical experience in the patriotic education of youth based on the study of archival documents.
In continuation of the meeting, the first secretary of the regional organization Muzyka A.S. spoke about the main directions of work of the youth organization. She shared ongoing projects aimed at civic-patriotic education of young people and actions within the framework of the volunteer movement: «One Hundred Ideas for Belarus», «Kind Heart», «From the Heart», «Heat Relay Race», etc. In addition, a video was shown about events held by the district organization for 2022.
The round table participants asked a number of questions. For example, the first deputy head of the main department of justice of the Gomel regional executive committee Gurzhiy A.N. asked a question about the possibilities for today’s interaction of the youth organization with the registry office. The prosecutor of the city of Gomel, Bulynko Yu.V., raised the issue of further digitization of the monuments of the Novobelitsky district.
At the end of the event, summing up, each participant of the meeting made a proposal for further fruitful cooperation for the purpose of information education and patriotic education, not only for children and youth, but also for the adult generation.
