Practice of students on the basis of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus

Since March 6, 2023, on the basis of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, undergraduate practice has been organized for students of the Faculty of History of the Belarusian State University of the 4th year of the specialties “History (by directions)”, “Historical and archival studies” and “Documentation (by direction)”. Many years of experience in organizing the practice of students of the Faculty of History of BSU in the archive confirms its effectiveness.

The practice includes work on graduation projects and familiarization with the activities of the institution. It should be noted that the topics of graduation projects correspond to the period and composition of the documents stored in the archive. This will enable trainees to work on their theses using archival documents. The children will also be able to apply and consolidate their theoretical knowledge in practice, performing certain types of work.

The leaders of the practice were appointed employees from among the most experienced: head of the department for the use of documents and information M.A. Starostenko, head of the department for ensuring the safety of documents and funds N.S. Nartovskaya, Deputy Head of Information Retrieval Systems Department V.Yu. Monzul, head of the sector of planning and methodological work of the department of scientific and technical processing of documents O.V. Mikhalyuk. Students and practice leaders will have the opportunity to look at each other, to express themselves. Perhaps one of the trainees will become our colleague, an employee of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus in the near future.
