Interactive exhibition «Partisans of Belarus» opened in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus
On February 20, 2023, the interactive exhibition «Partisans of Belarus» opened in the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus. The exposition is dedicated to the partisan and underground movement during the Great Patriotic War and is based on the documents of the unique project of the publishing house «Belarus Today» and the National Archive, the portal «Partisans of Belarus», materials of the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents.
Opening the exhibition, the Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus I.P.Sergeenko noted how important it is to preserve and perpetuate the memory of the participants of the partisan and underground movement during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945; to create a factual basis for countering attempts to falsify the history of the Great Patriotic War; to form the most complete electronic bank of documents testifying to the exploits and awards of the partisans and underground workers of the Great Patriotic War.
Director of the National Archive A.K.Demyanyuk, speaking to the audience, spoke about the prospects for the development of the portal «Partisans of Belarus». During the implementation of the project, data on 203 thousand partisans and underground fighters have already been posted on the Internet portal. The Internet portal «Partisans of Belarus» and the exhibition of the same name today perform the most important task – personification of the history of the Great Patriotic War. The portal will be further developed, filled with information about the activities of partisan brigades, detachments of formations.
General Director – Editor-in-chief of the publishing house «Belarus Today» D.A.Zhuk, speaking to employees of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus, noted that the portal «Partisans of Belarus» was visited by more than 800 thousand users of our country and representatives of other countries of the world. As long as people remember and pass on from generation to generation the history of not only our country, but also of each hero individually, there is hope that the war will not come to our land. Also, D.A.Zhuk spoke about the possibility of filling the portal with information from family archives – photos, documents about his heroic ancestors.
