The State Archives of the Minsk Region hosted the grand opening of the exhibition «Afghanistan – we remember!»

On February 15, 2023, on the Day of Remembrance of Internationalist Warriors, the State Archives of the Minsk Region hosted the opening of the exhibition «Afghanistan – We Remember!». The event was attended by Deputy Director for Organizational and Methodological Work M.V. Klimovich, chief custodian of L.S. Markevich, as well as the heads of structural divisions of the archive.

For the first time, the exposition presents documents from the funds of the Minsk Regional Executive Committee, the party complex, concerning the preservation of the memory of soldiers who performed their international duty in Afghanistan.

A significant part of the presented documents tells about the perpetuation of the memory of the paratrooper Nikolai Chepik, a native of the Pukhovichi district of the Minsk region, who was posthumously awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
