Documentary exhibition «Partisan Republic»
On January 10, 2023, as part of the solemn ceremony of awarding the Prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus «For Spiritual Revival», a special award to cultural and art workers and the «Belarusian Sports Olympus», a presentation of the documentary exhibition «Partisan Republic» took place in the Palace of the Republic.
The exhibition presents original archival documents that formed the basis of the interactive project «Partisans of Belarus». These are the orders of the Central (TSSHPD) and the Belarusian Headquarters of the partisan movement (BShPD), maps and diagrams, cipher telegrams, reports, reports of partisan formations on military operations carried out, award documents, personal sheets for registering partisan personnel, personal files of partisan Heroes of the Soviet Union, and as well as a collection of combat leaflets and partisan newspapers, original monuments of partisan creativity, annals of the nationwide struggle behind enemy lines. Many documents have already been digitized. You can get acquainted with them on the website «Рartizany.by». An interactive stand of the project was presented at the exhibition, with the help of which each visitor of the exhibition could try to find his heroic ancestor from among the partisans and underground fighters, learn new facts about the partisan movement in Belarus.
Orders, medals, award books, along with documentary sources, supplemented and clearly presented the heroic partisan past.
Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Petrishenko Igor Viktorovich, Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Sergeenko Igor Petrovich, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Belarus Maksim Vladimirovich Ryzhenkov, Minister of Culture Markevich Anatoly Mechislavovich, First Deputy Minister of Culture Gromada Valery Ivanovich got acquainted with the materials of the exhibition, who congratulated the staff of the publishing house «Belarus Today» and the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus for awarding a special prize of the President of the Republic of Belarus to cultural and art figures.
The exhibition aroused wide interest among the guests and participants of the solemn event.
One of the most important tasks of the Internet portal «Partisans of Belarus» is to preserve and perpetuate the memory of the heroes-partisans, to educate the younger generation with a sense of patriotism, duty and responsibility using examples of courage and heroism. The documentary materials presented at the exhibition show that the preservation of historical memory contributes to the education of patriotism and a sense of pride in the heroic deeds of the Belarusian people during the Great Patriotic War.
