On the participation of the director of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents» A.N. Gonchar in the Russian-Belarusian expert media forum «Unification of the peoples of Belarus and Russia: from a common past to a common future»
Belarus and Russia are united by a centuries-old common history, cultural and spiritual traditions. The need to resist the falsification of historical events, the preservation of the memory of fraternal peoples are the goals that scientists and experts of the Union State consistently advocate.
The expert and educational forum «Unification of the peoples of Belarus and Russia: from a common past to a common future» is held under the auspices of the Standing Committee of the Union State and contributes to the preservation of the historical memory of Belarus and Russia, opposes attempts to distort the joint history of the two countries, strengthens the spiritual and moral ties of the fraternal peoples.
The speech of the director of the institution «Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photo Documents» (hereinafter – BGAKFFD) A.N.Gonchar in the Russian-Belarusian expert media forum «Unification of the peoples of Belarus and Russia: from a common past to a common future» was dedicated to the participation of the BGAKFFD in Russian-Belarusian cooperation in the field of preservation of historical memory. The report emphasized the role of the archive as a unique collection of audiovisual documents illustrating historical events of more than a century. In addition, the participation of BGAKFFD in various Belarusian-Russian joint projects was covered in detail. As an example, the following events were given: the transfer by the director of the interregional public organization «Children’s media association «Boomerang» N.V.Vasilyeva to the funds of the BGAKFFD of films – the winners of the All-Russian correspondence competition of teenage media works «Without a statute of limitations: unconquered», telling about the events of the Great Patriotic War on the territory of Belarus, reaching agreements on cooperation with the Tretyakov Gallery and many other projects.
The openness of funds, popularization of archival documents as a means of restoring historical authenticity is the main direction of the work of BGAKFFD and partner organizations of the Union State.
