Meeting of archivists with students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No. 40 named after Yanka Luchina in Minsk»

On November 24, 2022, as part of the Republican campaign «Archives for School», a meeting of archivists with students of the State Educational Institution «Gymnasium No. 40 named after Yanka Luchina in Minsk» was held. The event was attended by the head of the Department of Information, Publication and Use of Documents of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art Tatyana Ivanova and Honorary Archivist of Belarus Anna Zapartyko.

The gymnasium, which since this year began to bear the name of the poet Yanka Luchina, has organized a permanent museum exhibition, which presents copies of archival documents from the repositories of the Belarusian State Archive-Museum of Literature and Art and the National Historical Archive of Belarus. From the funds of the archive-museum you can see the publication of the collection of poems “Vyazanka” (1903), the portrait of Yanka Luchina’s father, made by the poet’s niece Wanda Dzerzhinskaya, photographs from the family album, copies of biographical documents, etc.

During the meeting, the students learned about some interesting facts from Janka Lucina’s family biography, about the history of his archival heritage and the role of state archival institutions in its identification, preservation and promotion.
