The action «Archives for School» in the institution «Zonal State Archive in Polotsk» continues

As part of the «Archives for School» campaign and events dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory, 3rd year students of the Faculty of History of the Educational Establishment «Polotsk State University named after Euphrosyne of Polots» visited the institution «Zonal State Archive in Polotsk» in order to get acquainted with the archive , the main directions of its activities and the composition of the stored documents.

For future historians, a sightseeing tour of the institution was held with a visit to the reading room and archives, during which the children got acquainted with the history of the creation of the archive, the composition and features of storing documents, and the main areas of work of the departments.

Employees of the Department for the Use and Publication of Documents presented a number of archival documents revealing the essence, nature and consequences of the occupation regime, as well as documents testifying to the damage caused by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War and the post-war period of the Polotsk region.

Students had an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with archival documents, which are the most important evidence of true historical facts.
