On October 26, 2022, the director of the institution «State Archive of the Gomel Region» Andrey Nikolayevich Sushchevich took part online in the International Practical Conference «The Genocide of the Soviet People. Reich plan. Cruel Lessons of History», which was held in Bryansk in order to convey the historical truth about the war, to unite the efforts of state authorities and local governments with civil society institutions, historians, local historians, archivists, lawyers, members of the Search Movement of Russia and representatives of the media in study of the theme of the genocide of the peoples of the Soviet Union during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945.
At the conference, reports and reports were made by about a hundred experts – specialists in military history, archives, museum activities, local history, leaders and members of search teams, teachers and history teachers, as well as specialists from leading educational organizations and cultural institutions and students from the regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow, St. Petersburg, Smolensk, Bryansk, Voronezh, Volgograd, Pskov, Petrozavodsk, Lipetsk, Tula, Belgorod, Orel, Kursk, Sevastopol, Kaluga, Novorossiysk, Vyborg, as well as Minsk, Brest, Mogilev, Gomel (Republic of Belarus), Warsaw (Poland).
Director of the State Archives of the Gomel region Sushchevich A.N. made a report at the round table: «Falsification of the history of the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. Crimes of the Nazis according to the documents of the federal and state archives». The report was accompanied by a virtual exhibition of documents on this topic.
Specialists and experts shared their experience of joint work of search teams, archivists, representatives of law enforcement agencies in preparing documents and materials based on the results of search work, as well as testimonies of juvenile prisoners to initiate court proceedings and recognize as genocide crimes against the civilian population in the territories of the former Soviet Union occupied by Nazi troops. USSR.
The conference organizers are the Government of the Bryansk region together with the Bryansk branch of the RANEPA with the support of the Search Movement of Russia OOD, the Russian Military Historical Society, the All-Russian Public and State Educational Organization Russian Society Knowledge and the regional branch of the Russian Movement of Schoolchildren.
In total, more than a thousand specialists from the Bryansk region took part in the conference events.
