On October 21, 2022, employees of the State Archives of the Gomel Region took part in the Republican campaign “Let’s Restore Forests Together”

On October 21, 2022, employees of the institution “State Archive of the Gomel Region” (hereinafter referred to as the GAG) supported the republican campaign “Let’s Restore Forests Together”, initiated by the Ministry of Forestry. Director of the archive Sushchevich A.N. noted that this year the action is dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory and is aimed at assisting forestry enterprises in reforestation. From October 8 to 22, all those who are not indifferent can join the great cause – the creation of new forests.

Today, employees of the SAG made their contribution to the restoration of forests, who planted pine seedlings in the Makeevsky forestry. Led by director Sushchevich A.N. the staff of the archive, having received planting material, engaged in reforestation. The archive workers got acquainted with a new hand tool, a narrow steel shovel for planting seedlings and saplings of forest cultures – Kolesov’s sword, which became an additional plus in the treasury of knowledge and skills of archivists.

– The staff of our institution pays special attention to the conservation and enhancement of natural resources and is always happy to participate in such events. It’s nice that in a few years our children and grandchildren will be able to come to this place and relax in the shade of the trees planted by our hands, – Andrey Nikolayevich said summing up the event.
