Meeting with members of the memorial detachments of Minsk schools bearing the Honorary Watch of Memory at Post No. 1 near the Eternal Flame on Victory Square
On October 13, as part of the “Archives for School” campaign and events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the archive industry of Belarus, the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus hosted another meeting with members of the memorial detachments of Minsk schools carrying the Honorary Watch of Memory at Post No. 1 near the Eternal Flame on Victory Square. This time the archive was visited by students of secondary school No. 34, gymnasium No. 22 in Minsk.
As part of the meeting, the children were given a tour of the archive. Head of the department of funds of personal origin I.V. Dorogush spoke about the history of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus, about the composition and features of storing documents, about the work of the archive in the field of publication and exhibition activities. During the tour, the students got acquainted with the banner exhibition “Archival Service of Belarus: 100 years together with the country (1922-2022)”, visited the archives of the funds of partisan formations, where they had a conversation on the history of the partisan movement and got acquainted with the personal files of the command staff of the partisan detachments and brigades, battle sheets and other documents.
The students also visited the archives of funds of personal origin, where an exhibition of documents of state, public and party leaders, scientists of Belarus and participants of the Great Patriotic War, etc. was organized for them.
The children were told how funds of personal origin are formed and about their importance in the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
