On September 12, 2022, all state archives of the Republic of Belarus will hold a Single Open Doors Day dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Archival Service of Belarus.
For reference. On September 12, 1922, the Decree of the BSSR Central Executive Committee approved the Regulation on the Central Archives of Belarus. The document set forth the main tasks of the Central Archives and the principles of centralization of the archive business in the Republic. That was the beginning of the existence of the archival service in Belarus. The prominent statesman and public figure, writer D. F. Zhilunovich (Tishka Gartny) was appointed the first head of the Central Archives at the session of the Presidium of the BSSR Central Executive Committee on January 19, 1923.
