The State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region took part in the events timed to the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus

On the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus, the staff of the State Archives of Public Organizations of Gomel Region took part in a number of events timed to this date.

On June 30, the archivists visited the Gomel Regional Museum of Military Glory. The excursion with a visit to the military-historical exposition was held as part of the planned events, timed to the Year of Historical Memory and on the eve of the Independence Day of the Republic of Belarus.

The deputy director of the museum, Konstantin Mishchenko, acquainted the archivists with the exposition that reflects the important events in the military history of Gomel, with a special emphasis on the period of the Great Patriotic War. The open area of the museum displays military equipment – armored, artillery and motor vehicles. There are planes, helicopters and even a train.

In addition, the archivists with their family members visited the historical and cultural complex «The Stalin Line», where they could see the expositions, examined the restored pill-boxes (long-term firing points) with artillery pieces, machine guns, weapons and other relevant attributes, walked in the trenches, visited the territory of a partisan village, an airfield, military armored vehicles, weapons and much more.
