A lesson-lecture at High School No. 1 in Dzerzhinsk dedicated to the Year of Historical Memory as part of the Archives for School campaign

On 25 May 2022, the leading archivist of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD) Mikhail Garelik held a lesson-lecture at Gymnasium No. 1 in the town of Dzerzhinsk on the topic “Archival activities on the example of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings” in the framework of the Year of Historical Memory as part of the Archives for School campaign. The listeners were 8th and 9th grade students.

The lesson-lecture included a story about the history of the formation of the Archives and its current activities. Special attention was paid to the areas of work of each department from a professional point of view and information about related specialties used in the archival industry. The students were also shown a presentation dedicated to the Archives, archival newsreels and photo albums.
