Excursion “Unique documents from the collections of the Local State Archives in Polotsk”
On 25 April 2022, in the framework of the Archives for School national campaign, the Local State Archives in Polotsk held an excursion for 6th “A” grade students of the Polotsk State Gymnasium No. 2.
The students learned about the history of the Archives, its tasks and functions, the importance of the archives for the State, the society and the individual. The excursion presented the unique documents from the archive collections called “the documentary treasures”. The students also learned about the archive documents concerning the genocide of civilians in the Polotsk region and documents from the personal collections of participants in the Great Patriotic War.
The guests visited the reading room, the archival repository, and got acquainted with the current exhibitions.
