As part of the Year of Historical Memory and the Archives for School campaign, the State Archives of Brest Region was visited by students of the Brest Regional Lyceum named after P. M. Masherov
The Lyceum students were given a tour of the archive, during which they got acquainted with its work, visited the laboratory for repair and restoration of archive documents, the archival repository, the museum of the archive history and learned about the composition and storage of archive documents.
The Director of the Archives A. G. Karapuzova spoke about the documents of the Great Patriotic War, in particular, the documents of the German occupation authorities in 1941-1944, the documents of the Extraordinary State Commission for Establishing and Investigating the Nazi Crimes and Damage in Brest Region, which serve as valuable sources to study the history of the Brest region during the occupation.
The students got acquainted with the exhibition of documents reflecting the policy of genocide during the German occupation on the territory of the Brest region.
