On 14 March, the Central Laboratory for Microfilming and Restoration of Documents of the National Archival Fonds of the Republic of Belarus hosted a meeting with 3rd year students of the Historical-Archival Department of the History Faculty of the Belarusian State University.

During the meeting, the laboratory staff introduced future historians-archivists to all stages of the technological process of microbiological examination, disinfection, restoration, binding and digitization of archival documents.

Of particular interest was a visual demonstration of the process of restoring an archival document with the replacement of the destroyed part of the sheet. The students could see that the work to restore the original appearance of an archival document requires painstaking and scrupulous attitude, great experience and responsibility of the unique specialists working in the laboratory, who contribute to the preservation of the historical heritage of the Belarusian people.
