An interview by Belarusian Radio “Culture” channel with Anna Zapartyko, director of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art

On February 23, 2022, Galina Shablinskaya, journalist of the “Culture” channel of Belarusian Radio interviewed Anna Zapartyko, director of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art.

The conversation took place as part of the “Dialogues on Culture” program, a virtual platform for discussing the most significant events in culture and art. The main topic of the conversation was determined by the Year of Historical Memory announced in Belarus and the 100th anniversary of the Belarusian Archival Service. Anna Zapartyko told about the history of creation and development of the archives-museum as the richest treasury of hand-written monuments and documentary sources on the history of national literature and art. The features of acquisition and use of personal archives, role of archivists in formation of national historical memory were noted. The archivists who were behind the creation of the Belarusian State Archives-Museum of Literature and Art, the writers and many cultural figures whose archival collections represent a unique part of the National Archival Fonds were named. Information about joint projects of the archives-museum with various institutions and organizations was given.

At the end of her talk, Anna Zapartyko invited everyone to take part in archival events, including the conferences ” ХХІІ Uzvyshsha Readings” with the topic “Belarusian Writers of the War Generation: Fates and Works” and ” ХХ Archival Readings” with the topic “Personal Collections as Sources of Historical Memory of the People”.
