A presentation of the book “Travels in Polesye” took place on May 5, 2021
On May 5, 2021, employees of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings took part in a press conference “Journey through Belarus with new books from the country’s leading publishers”, timed to the Press Day, which took place in the Press Center of the House of Press.
The event included a presentation of the book “Travels in Polesye” – a joint project of the Publishing House “Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka“ and the Museum of Belarusian Polesye.
The press conference was attended by Olga Vanina – director of the Publishing House “Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka“, Olga Davidovich – head of the editorial board of literature, art and cultural studies of the Publishing House “Belarusian Encyclopedia named after Petrus Brovka“, Elena Grinevich – deputy director of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings, Gennady Dubatovka – head of the department of automation and information technologies of the Archives, Olga Lobachevskaya – doctor of art studies, and Svetlana Tsilimova – leading researcher at the Museum of Belarusian Polesye.
The Archives digitized over 200 glass photonegatives provided by the Museum of Belarusian Polesie for the publication of the book “Travels in Polesye”. The main part of the work on the restoration of photonegatives was carried out by the Head of the Automation and Information Technology Department G.N. Dubatovka.
The book will be useful to all interested in studying the Belarusian Polesye, ethnography and culture of our country. It can be used by school teachers and university professors.
