TV Channel One Russia premieres a documentary ”Pesnyary” based on film footage from BGAKFFD Archives

On 16 January 2021, TV Channel One Russia (ORT) premiered a documentary film “Pesnyary. My Youth”, which tells about a legendary Soviet Belarusian folk rock ensemble “Pesnyary” and its head V.G. Mulyavin, who would have turned 80 on January 12, 2021.

The Studio Premiere LLC (Moscow) had been working on this film for two years. Some of the filming was carried out directly on the premises of the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Recordings (BGAKFFD).

The film clips were used from the following documentaries stored at BGAKFFD: “Our roots are in the land” (1975), “And also a circus” (1983), “Pesnyary” (1971), “Minsk – the capital of Soviet Belarus ”(1971), an anniversary program at the festival of arts “The Slavic Bazaar in Vitebsk. “Pesnyary” – 25 Years on Stage” (1994), “New Minsk” (1954), fragments of the play “Yas and Yanina” (1974). Digitization of these documentaries for the project was carried out on the equipment of BGAKFFD.
