The State Archives of Minsk Region has released a collection of documents, Life at War in the Diaries of Artilleryman Alexey Sapunov

To mark the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the State Archives of Minsk Region has released a collection of documents, Life at War in the Diaries of Artilleryman Alexey Sapunov.

The book presents, for the first time, 18 out of 25 personal diaries of Red Army soldier, participant in the Second World War, Alexey Petrovich Sapunov, held at the State Archives of Minsk Region. In addition to digitized copies of the diaries, the book contains photocopies of personal papers of the author.

The diaries of Alexey Sapunov are of historical value, since they reflect the life of the author at the frontline. The diaries were written over a long period of time, from November 1941 to February 6, 1947, in different conditions. The small notebooks were partially sewn by hand from pages of an exercise book.
