The delegation of Belarusian archivists visited Kaunas to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition “The end of the First World War: a decisive turn for modern Europe”
Between 12 and 15 November 2018 the delegation of Belarusian archivists visited Kaunas, the Republic of Lithuania, to attend the opening ceremony of the exhibition “The end of the First World War: a decisive turn for modern Europe”. The delegation included First Deputy Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry O. Biryukova and Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus A. Demyanyuk. The Belarusian exposition presented documents from the state archives in Belarus highlighting the 100th anniversary of the state building in Belarus.
The opening ceremony, organized by Lithuanian archivists, was attended by representatives from archive services of Latvia, Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Estonia and Georgia.
The Belarus delegation also visited the Lithuanian Central State Archives, the Lithuanian State Historical Archives and the Kaunas Regional Archives to acquaint with the work of Lithuanian archivists.
During the events the participants exchanged their experience in the field of archive business and discussed issues of joint work in archival projects.
