The delegation of Belarusian archivists took part in the Nineteenth General Conference of the Eurasian Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives
The Nineteenth General Conference of the Eurasian Regional Branch of the International Council on Archives (EURASICA) took place on 12-14 June 2018 in Warsaw (the Republic of Poland).
The event brought together archival delegations from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Russia, Poland and Uzbekistan. Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland Mr. P. Glinski took part in the events.
The Belarusian delegation included Director of the Department for Archives and Records Management of the Justice Ministry V. Kourash (delegation head), Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus A. Demyanyuk, Director of the Central Laboratory of Records Microfilming and Restoration V. Klyuiko, Director of the State Archives of Brest Region A. Karapuzova.
The 19th EURASICA Conference discussed the Plan of Actions for 2017-2020, listened to reports of the representatives of the member states on the development of archive business in their countries in 2017-2018, etc.
The next, Twentieth EURASICA General Conference will take place in 2019 in the Republic of Kirghizia.
The events included an international scholarly conference “The current problems in the preservation of archival records”. The speakers from the Belarusian side were Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus A. Demyanyuk (“Practices of the National Archives in work with government institutions in the field of records preservation”); Director of the State Archives of Brest Region A. Karapuzova (“Records preservations at the State Archives of Brest Region”); Director of the Central Laboratory of Records Microfilming and Restoration V. Klyuiko.
During the events Director of the Belarusian Department for Archives and Records Management V. Kourash held negotiations with General Director of the State Archives of Poland W. Wozniak and Director of the Central Archives of Historical Records H. Wajs. They discussed the perspectives of Belarusian-Polish cooperation in archival sphere and their plans on the use of the joint documentary heritage.
