A retrospective show of documentary films from BGAKFFD Archives
On 1 March 2018 the Belarusian State Archives of Films, Photographs and Sound Records (BGAKFFD) and the State Institution of the Centralized System of State Public Libraries in Minsk held a traveling show of retrospective films from BGAKFFD Archives. The event took place at the Yanka Kupala Central Library in Minsk.
The speakers at the event were Director of the Centralized System of State Public Libraries in Minsk E. Kubyshkina and BGAKFFD Head for Records and Information Use Division T. Rakhmanko. Students of the Minsk Mikhail Glinka State Musical College performed musical works by Mikhail Musorgsky, Belarusian folk songs and songs from the Soviet Union period.
The event included the demonstration of documentaries “The Renewal of Minsk” (1946, dir. S. Sploshnov) and “My City” (1961, dir. V. Sheleg) about the restoration and reconstruction of Minsk in the period of 1945-1961 and a newsreel “Soviet Belarus” No. 2 (1977, dir. E. Kolas) dedicated to the celebration of the International Women’s Day 8th March.
