The State Archives of Brest Region held the training course at the School of Young Archivist
On 28-30 September 2015 the State Archives of Brest Region held the training course at the School of Young Archivist.
The event was organized for the young staff on the eve of the Archives Day and was dated for the Year of Youth, declared in Belarus by Presidential Decree No. 495 of 16 October 2014.
Recently the Archives’ young staff has notably increased. In the current year alone, five new young employees have joined the Archives.
Attendees at the three-day training course were 11 listeners. They got acquainted with the history of the Archives, the contents and composition of the archive records, the main normative and procedural documents on archives and records management, the work with records creating institutions, etc. The course included multimedia presentations and the demonstration of archival documents.
The oldest staff member of the Archives, L.G. Romanovich, who has already served the archive field for 49 years, told the young generation of her archivist’s fate, the specifics of the profession and the love for archive records.
During the tour about the Archives, the young archivists acquainted with the work of the structural departments, archival repositories, the laboratory for repair and restoration of documents, etc.
