Belarus Law on Official Heraldic Symbols came into force

On 26 May 2012 the Law of the Republic of Belarus on Official Heraldic Symbols came into force.

The official heraldic symbols specifically reflect the state ideology and national culture and highlight the international status of the country. This is a political, ideological, social and cultural capital of the nation.

The Law summarizes the provisions of the standing legal acts in this field and will ensure for the single government policy in the creation, confirmation, registration and use of official heraldic symbols adjusted for their specificity.

The present Law regulating the system of modern symbols is the first national legislative act in the post-Soviet countries.

The Law was published in the National Register of Legal Acts of the Republic of Belarus on 6 June 2012 with No. 63, 2/1936.
