Film Lecture for National Unity Day at Rechitsa Hardware Plant OJSC

On September 15, 2026, ahead of National Unity Day (September 17), staff from the Zonal State Archive in Rechitsa held a film lecture for the workforce of the Rechitsa Hardware Plant. They guided the plant’s employees through the history of the holiday, which dates back to September 17, 1939, when the Red Army liberated Western Belarus from Polish oppression, thereby restoring the unity of the Belarusian people — a unity that endures to this day. The audience was then shown the documentary film «Reunification», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents; the film features footage of the Red Army’s campaign into Poland, the elections regarding the incorporation of Western Belarus into the BSSR, and the region’s development in the immediate aftermath of reunification.
