An event dedicated to first-graders was held at the State Archives of the Gomel Region

On August 31, 2026, on the eve of Knowledge Day, the reading room of the State Archives of the Gomel Region hosted an event where archivists traditionally welcomed future first-graders—the children of archive staff. Roman Shishkin and Matvey Kachev will be first-graders in the coming school year. On September 1, their first school bell will ring, opening the door to the «Land of Knowledge».

Archive Director Yuri Shestopalov and Svetlana Primakova, chair of the institution’s primary trade union, addressed the first-graders with parting words. They wished the future students a bright and joyful journey of exciting discoveries to the «Land of Knowledge», perseverance, and persistence in achieving their goals. They also wished their parents joy in their children’s successes and pride in their excellent results. Roman and Matvey were presented with first-grader diplomas, sweet gifts, and backpacks filled with stationery.

Concluding the event, Yuri Shestopalov said that the knowledge gained today is the strength and prosperity of Belarus tomorrow. Therefore, with hope and pride, we send the younger generation off to conquer the heights of knowledge, to study, live, and work for the good of our country, to be confident in the future.
