17th Scientific and Practical Conference «Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Dnieper Region»

On June 19, 2026, the 17th Scientific and Practical Conference «Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Dnieper Region» was held in Mogilev at the Glory Museum of the Mogilev Region, a branch of the E.R.Romanov Mogilev Regional Museum of Local History.

The conference brought together over 30 historians, local historians, archaeologists, archivists, and museum staff from Minsk, Mogilev, and district centers of the Mogilev Region.

Conference participants examined a wide range of issues in the history of the Mogilev region: from archeology to contemporary practices of commemorating the lives of fellow countrymen who died in military conflicts of the 20th century and promoting museum collections.

During the plenary session, Alexander Petukhov, Lead Archivist of the Department of Scientific Use of Documents and Information and Master of Historical Sciences, presented a paper entitled «Restoring the Activities of the Mogilev Regional Museum of Local History in 1944-1953».

A pleasant surprise for participants was the publication of a collection of materials for the conference.
