The presentation of the joint exhibition project of the archivists of Belarus and the Sverdlovsk region, timed to the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War, took place

On June 19, 2026, the presentation of the inter-archival virtual exhibition «Shoulder to Shoulder: Republic of Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast during the Great Patriotic War» was held in the format of the VKS, prepared as part of the Plan of Joint Activities to Develop Cooperation between Archival Institutions of the Republic of Belarus and Sverdlovsk Oblast for 2025-2027.

The following addressed the participants of the event with a welcome speech: head of the Archives Department of the Sverdlovsk Region, R.S.Taraborin; director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus O.L.Voinov; Consul General of the Republic of Belarus in Yekaterinburg S.N.Chichuk and Deputy Minister of International and Foreign Economic Relations of the Sverdlovsk Region I.V.Skidin.

In his welcoming speech, O.L.Voinov drew attention to the systematic work of the archivists of Belarus and the Sverdlovsk region to preserve historical memory and the truth about the events of the Great Patriotic War, and also expressed his gratitude to all those who were involved in the implementation of this project. Oleg Leonidovich noted that «the war connected republics and regions with strong threads. And this is very clearly visible on the example of Belarus and the Sverdlovsk region».

From the Belarusian side, the archivists of the National Archive of the Republic of Belarus and the Belarusian State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents took part in the preparation of the project. More than 200 documents organized into 10 sections are presented at the exhibition.
