Events held by the State Archives of the Brest Region as part of International Archives Week

The State Archives of the Brest Region held a number of events as part of International Archives Week.

On June 10, at a general staff meeting, a ceremony was held to inscribe retired veterans of the archival service into the archive’s Book of Honor for their many years of dedicated service and significant contributions to the archive’s development.

Olga Nikiforovna Yurchik, Lidiya Grigoryevna Romanovich, Irina Ivanovna Shlyakhtich, and Lyudmila Vasilyevna Datskevich, who were present at the event, were ceremoniously presented with certificates of inclusion in the Book of Honor.

The archive’s doors were also open to guests throughout the week.

The archive was visited by representatives of the senior citizen day care department of the Leninsky District Social Services Center in Brest, as well as fifth-grade students from the summer camp of Brest Secondary School No.16 named after Hero of the Soviet Union A.M.Karasev.

The guests were briefed on the archive’s activities, the archivist profession, and the composition of documents stored in the state archive, including those from the Great Patriotic War. They were given a tour of the archive and a screening of the film «Hero Fortress», produced by the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Archive.
