«Summer in the Archive»: a series of educational tours as part of International Archives Week at the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno

A modern archive is a true time machine, a fascinating quest that allows you to experience history through documents. As part of International Archives Week and the national campaign «Archives for School», staff from the Zonal State Archive in Molodechno conducted a series of sightseeing tours for students from the city’s school camps.

During the events, the students learned about the history of archival work and the creation of the Molodechno archive, its collections, and its most valuable documents. They learned about the work of departments, service areas, and visited the archive storage facilities, where they saw firsthand how history is preserved.

Also during the events, the students were shown the documentary «Hero Fortress», which tells the story of the heroic defense of the Brest Fortress based on archival footage from the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archive.
