The Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (BSAMLI) held an Open Day for prospective students

On June 4, 2026, as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign, the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art (hereinafter referred to as BSAMLI) held an Open Day for high school students.

The event was organized to promote archival work, introduce young people to the specifics of working with documentary heritage, and attract future applicants to the archival profession.

Vera Valentinovna Birulya, Head of the Information, Publication, and Use of Documents Department, spoke to the students about the uniqueness of the archive-museum’s collections and the specifics of document storage. Participants learned about the main activities of the BSAMLI and received answers to questions about employment prospects in archival institutions.

A tour of the current exhibitions «His Rich Result» (marking the 140th anniversary of writer Zmitrok Byadulya) and «Mountain Roads. Caucasus» (marking the 100th anniversary of artist Boris Arakcheyev) was organized for Open Day participants in the reading room of the archive-museum.

Such events not only help broaden prospective students’ horizons but also help them make an informed choice in favor of humanities majors related to archival work and museum studies.
