Event «Slutsk Region: Pages of Glorious History» with Irina Antonovna Borodina, Director of the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk

On May 7, 2026, the Service and Information Department of the Slutsk District Central Library hosted a meeting titled «Slutsk Region: Pages of Glorious History» with Irina Antonovna Borodina, Director of the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk. The event, timed to coincide with the 81st anniversary of the Soviet people’s victory in the Great Patriotic War, focused on the post-war restoration of the national economy of the Republic of Belarus.

A library employee spoke to students of Slutsk Secondary School No.6 about the colossal efforts the Belarusian people made to rebuild the country’s economy, devastated by the Nazi invaders. Irina Antonovna Borodina, Director of the Zonal State Archives in Slutsk, spoke about the city’s resurrection from ruins.

Her presentation, «Restoration of Slutsk in the Post-War Period», based on archival materials from that period, offered an insightful insight into the most complex chapters of our city’s history.

The meeting was complemented by a banner exhibition prepared by the state archive staff: «Restoration of Slutsk in the Post-War Period», «Archive Documents Testify», and literature presented at the exhibition-viewing event «Belarus. Creation. Time to Remember».
