Award Ceremony for Employees of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documents Archive at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus

On May 7, 2026, employees of the Belarusian State Film, Photo, and Sound Documents Archive, led by Oleg Leonidovich Voinov, Director of the Department of Archives and Records Management of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, visited the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.

A film based on BGAKFFD documents was shown at the opening of the photo exhibition «Women Who Created an Era», organized by the Presidential Library. Chairman of the House of Representatives Igor Petrovich Sergeyenko presented awards to the archive employees and the staff of the Presidential Library.

A.N.Gonchar, Director of the Archives; E.M. Grinevich, Lead Archivist of the Department of State Records and Scientific Reference Apparatus; S.R.Doshchechko, Head of the Department of Automation and Information Technology; and M.D.Rebesh, Lead Engineer of the Department of Automation and Information Technology, received a letter of gratitude from Igor Petrovich Sergeenko, Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, for their high professionalism and creative contribution to the film’s preparation as part of the national campaign «Women Who Created an Era».

Following the event, the archive’s staff were invited to a meeting of the House of Representatives and participated in the proceedings.

The national campaign «Women Who Created an Era» includes the preparation of a photo exhibition and film about nine women, Heroes of Socialist Labor. The goal of this event was to highlight the national significance of women’s role in the development of the country and society.

As a result of the work carried out, photo and film documents about nine distinguished workers in industry, agriculture, science, and culture were identified in the archive’s collections. Archive staff produced nine videos, using unique newsreels from the archive’s collections for the first time. They selected fascinating photographs about nine women Heroes of Socialist Labor. The videos cover the following Heroes of Socialist Labor: Varvara Mikhailovna Solomakho, Nina Fyodorovna Bakunets, Zinaida Petrovna Goryachko, Tatyana Grigoryevna Orda, Zinaida Petrovna Yaroshevich, Antonina Vladimirovna Shatukhina, Valentina Nikolaevna Gulidova, Lyubov Petrovna Kozlovskaya, and Nina Tarasovna Petrenko.

Developed as part of the national campaign «Women Who Created an Era», the project has become a key promotional event in the information space, a means of civic and party education, and the fostering of spiritual connections between generations.
