On the lecture «Formation of Term Papers and Theses» held by the State Archives of the Gomel Region as part of the national «Archives for School» campaign

On March 30, 2026, Anastasia Artemyeva, an archivist in the Department of Records Management, Formation of the National Archival Fund, and Archives of Organizations, delivered a lecture for first-year students of F.Skorina Gomel State University on the topic of «Formation of Term Papers and Theses».

During the lecture, Anastasia Artemyeva explained the rules for preparing essays, term papers, and theses, as well as the requirements for their structure and formatting. In her presentation, Anastasia emphasized the importance of choosing a research topic. She emphasized that the topic should include a specific section that will serve as the object and subject of the study. This section defines the topic of the research paper. The lecture also covered the formatting of the text and headings, as well as the use of tables and illustrations. Anastasia explained and demonstrated how to format references to referenced sources and how to format a bibliography of referenced sources.

The lecture was accompanied by a virtual exhibition on the formatting of term papers and theses, prepared by Anastasia Artemyeva.

Students were given a tour of the archival repository, where leading archivist Marina Vladimirovna Bortnovskaya spoke about the archive’s historical documents and the rules for their preservation.
