Lessons for students of V.T.Tsabo Secondary School No.13 in Grodno as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign at the State Archives of the Grodno Region
On March 19, 2026, as part of the «Archives for Schools» campaign, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held two lessons on the topic «The Tragedy of the Civilian Population during the Great Patriotic War» for eighth-grade students of V.T.Tsabo Secondary School No.13 in Grodno.
Archives staff demonstrated documentary materials illustrating the criminal activities of the occupation authorities: records of prisoners of war held in German camps, identification cards of ghetto prisoners, and work cards of citizens sent to forced labor in Germany. The students also enjoyed document exhibitions dedicated to the events and participants of the Great Patriotic War, which were on display in the archive’s reading room.
Following the lessons, the students visited the archival repository, where they learned about the storage conditions, composition, and content of documents, and also visited the document digitization and restoration department.
