As part of the «Archives for School» campaign, the State Archives in Glubokoe held a requiem lesson dedicated to Khatyn Tragedy Remembrance Day

On March 19, 2026, the Zonal State Archives in Glubokoe held a requiem lesson, «For Whom the Bell Tolls», for students of the Zalesskaya Secondary School in Glubokoe District. The lesson was dedicated to Khatyn Tragedy Remembrance Day.

During the lesson, the students were shown the videos «Khatyn Birches» and «Fiery Villages», created by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents. Archive staff members Tatyana Avlasova and Alina Yurgel told those present about Khatyn’s «sisters» – the villages of Shunevka in the Dokshitsy District and Sharagi in the Glubokoye District, which were burned by the German occupiers along with their civilians.

After the lesson, the students examined documents displayed at the archive’s exhibition «Belarusian Women – Bright Destinies», prepared as part of the Year of the Belarusian Woman.
