The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region continues to hold events as part of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project
On February 26, 2026, the State Archives of the Vitebsk Region, one of the founders of the «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project, held a public meeting with its co-founders, the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin and the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.Shmyrev.
The «Volgograd-Vitebsk: Memory of Generations» project aims to unite the youth of Belarus and Russia to preserve the historical truth about the Great Patriotic War.
The event included a lecture by Gleb Orlovsky, a researcher at the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Hero of the Soviet Union M.F.Shmyrev, on the formation of the architectural ensemble of Victory Square in Vitebsk.
The State Archives of the Vitebsk Region held a screening of the documentary film «The Liberation of Vitebsk», produced by the BSAKFFD.
The archive also presented banner exhibitions of documents, «Craft after Crater, This Land Is Hollowed Out and Twisted…» and «In the Summer of 1944».
More than 110 people participated in the event, including university students, college and art school students, and representatives of the veterans’ organization «Golden Age».
