«Archives for School»: A Patriotism Lesson at Secondary School No.9 in Rechitsa

On February 23, 2026, as part of the «Archives for School» campaign and the «Young Archivist» pilot project, a patriotism lesson was held at Secondary School No.9 in Rechitsa. Staff from the Zonal State Archives in Rechitsa told students in grades 7 and 8 about the first creator of the archive’s personal collection — a participant in the Soviet-Finnish, Great Patriotic, and Soviet-Japanese Wars, Hero of the Soviet Union, military pilot Dmitry Danilovich Valentik. The students learned about the most interesting and captivating events in the Hero’s life and examined his documents. The meeting concluded with a screening of the documentary «History of the Great Victory», produced by the Belarusian State Archive of Film, Photo, and Sound Documents.
