Vitebsk Region State Archives staff visited the Belarusian-Russian exhibition «To Those Who Did Not Return from Flight»
«To Those Who Did Not Return from Flight»: A Belarusian-Russian exhibition in memory of pilots who died during the Great Patriotic War and while serving in the military in the post-war decades has opened in Vitebsk.
The exhibition project was initiated by Larisa Brueva, Chair of the Council for Cooperation between Vitebsk Region Search Teams «Poshuk», whose personal collection is housed at the Vitebsk Region State Archives.
The exhibition is held at the Museum of the History of Private Collections. Visitors will be presented with a unique display of fragments of combat aircraft from the Great Patriotic War, found by search teams at the crash sites, including serialized aircraft fragments and personal belongings of the crew of Hero of the Soviet Union N.F.Gastello; relics associated with the perished crews who performed their international duty during international military conflicts; Artworks by finalists in the creative competition for children and youth from the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation; models of aircraft and military equipment from the Great Patriotic War; collections of books and magazines on the subject of conquerors of the skies.
