A class for students of the Faculty of History, Communication, and Tourism at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno held at the State Archives of the Grodno Region as part of the «Young Archivist» pilot project
On December 16, as part of the «Young Archivist» pilot project, the State Archives of the Grodno Region held a class for first-year students of the Faculty of History, Communication, and Tourism at Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno on the topic of «The Role of Archives in Preserving Historical Heritage: The Composition and Content of Archive Documents».
Archive staff briefed the students on the history of the State Archives of the Grodno Region, its structure and main areas of activity, and the composition and content of its stored documents. During the class, the archival staff introduced the students to the procedures for using archival documents in the archive’s reading room and the specifics of working with the research and reference apparatus when locating documents. Students visited the archival repository, as well as the laboratory for restoration, binding, and repair of documents.
