A Belarusian-Russian roundtable discussion on «Organizing Remote Access to Archival Documents and Reference Tools on the Internet» was held

On November 26, 2025, a joint Belarusian-Russian roundtable discussion on «Organizing Remote Access to Archival Documents and Reference Tools on the Internet» was held at the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus. This event was part of the Joint Action Plan for Developing Cooperation between Archival Institutions of the Republic of Belarus and the Sverdlovsk Region, signed in February 2025.

Oleg Leonidovich Voinov and Roman Sergeyevich Taraborin, heads of the archival services of the Republic of Belarus and the Sverdlovsk Region, welcomed the participants. They noted the extensive and diverse work of archival institutions to popularize documentary archival heritage online.

On the Belarusian side, presentations were made by A.V.Kochetkova, Deputy Head of the Department of Records Management, Formation, and Preservation of the National Archives of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Belarus, and S.V.Kulinok, Deputy Director of the National Archives of the Republic of Belarus. They shared the experience of Belarusian archivists in the field of archival technologies for providing remote access to NAF documents and implementing key internet projects.

On the Russian side, O.A.Yakubovskaya, Head of the Department for the Implementation of State Programs, Preservation, and Accounting of Archival Documents of the Sverdlovsk Region Archives Administration, and O.V.Selezneva, Director of the State Archives of Administrative Bodies of the Sverdlovsk Region, spoke about the experience of Russian archivists in organizing remote access to archival documents.
