BGAMLI at the 100th Anniversary of Belarusian Radio

On November 19, 2025, employees of the Belarusian State Archives and Museum of Literature and Art, led by Director E.A.Makarenko, attended a gala event dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Belarusian Radio, which was held in the Great Hall of the Palace of the Republic.

As part of the celebration, an awards ceremony was held for the winners of the 1st National Competition «RadioTriumph», established in 2025. A large celebratory concert brought together approximately 300 participants and became a vibrant musical and theatrical gift to the radio community.

During the event, archivists visited interactive areas and photo zones introducing guests to the work of radio stations and met with renowned radio hosts.

BGAMLI is the custodian of the history of radio broadcasting in our country. The archive features documents from the personal collection of V.P.Polesky-Stankevich, a journalist, playwright, and statesman, Chairman of the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the BSSR for Radio and Television (1965–1971). Among them, for example, are photographs of legendary Belarusian Radio announcers I.L.Kurgan and V.M.Yurevich during work meetings, and S.Ya.Gurich, the chief director of literary and dramatic broadcasting for the Belarusian Republican Radio from 1967–1986, who created over 200 radio plays; as well as photographs of radio play rehearsals.

The Belarusian State Archive and Museum of Literature and Art warmly congratulates the staff of Belarusian Radio on this anniversary and wishes them continued creative success, new professional achievements, and loyal listeners.
