Schoolchildren from Beloozersk visited the Zonal State Archives in Kobrin

On November 4, 2025, seventh-grade students from Beloozersk Secondary School No.1 visited the Zonal State Archives in Kobrin.

The archive’s reading room became a veritable expedition into the past. The students embarked on a fascinating journey to learn about the founding and development of Beloozersk School No.1.

The children immersed themselves in the world of archival documents. They not only studied the materials but also mastered important information management skills. Under the guidance of experienced archivists, they learned to navigate the archive’s scientific reference apparatus. The case inventories became a kind of guide to knowledge, helping them quickly find the documents they needed. Traditional and electronic catalogs opened the door to a world of systematized information, teaching the students how to effectively search for information in both printed and digital sources. The students enthusiastically explored the documents, which allowed them to experience the atmosphere of the time and understand the origins of the educational institution.

The mention of the October Revolution Day was particularly important for understanding the historical context. Discussing this event helped the students understand how historical milestones influenced people’s lives and the development of society, including the emergence of new schools.

The educational day culminated with a tour of the archives. The children also visited the archival storage facility. They were able to see how documents are stored, feel the breath of history, and understand the importance of preserving the past for future generations.

Such activities not only broaden students’ horizons but also instill in them a respect for history and develop research skills. The students had a unique opportunity not only to learn about Beloozersk Secondary School No.1 but also to learn how to independently gather information, an invaluable skill in the modern world.
