Family as a Source of Strength: An Archival Exhibition in Molodechno
As part of Parental Love Week, the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno opened a display dedicated to the families of prominent archive creators. Through childhood photographs, letters to relatives, and photos with spouses and parents, the exhibition reveals not only the biographies of famous individuals but also their spiritual depth, sincere feelings, and tender care for their loved ones. Each display is a story of love, continuity, and gratitude, captured in archival documents and personal heirlooms.
Igor Anatolyevich Sheremet is a Russian scientist, Doctor of Engineering Sciences, professor, and academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He has made significant contributions to the development of information technology, systems analysis, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Before beginning his scientific career, he served in the USSR Armed Forces, where he received an officer’s rank. Army discipline became a solid foundation for his future achievements. The exhibition features his letters to his mother, filled with respect and tenderness, as well as photographs from various years, reflecting his development as a person—from a boy with an inquisitive gaze to a world-renowned scientist.
Vladimir Mikhailovich Kalachik, a Hero of Socialist Labor, PhD in economics, and deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR and the Byelorussian SSR, dedicated his life to the development of agriculture in Belarus. Under his leadership, the «Bright Path» collective farm became a model of efficiency and social responsibility. Behind these labor achievements lies a man deeply devoted to his family. The archive contains photographs with his wife and children—living testament to the love and care he carried throughout his life. These images remind us that true strength is born at home, among loved ones.
Alexander Alexandrovich Khozyanin, a retired lieutenant colonel, honorary journalist of Belarus, and winner of the Union of Journalists award, served the word and the people for over 40 years. As editor-in-chief of the Maladzechanskaya Gazeta, he shaped public opinion, uncovered stories, and defended the truth. His officer background instilled in him a respect for humanity, and family values—sensitivity and kindness. The exhibition features photographs of him as a youth, as well as those of his son and mother. His story is a reminder that journalism begins with a love for people.
The exhibition at the Molodechno archive is a frank conversation about how behind every achievement lies family, behind every document, feelings, and behind every photograph, memory. It is an invitation to remember your loved ones, to say «thank you», and to preserve the warmth of family ties.
