A visit to the Alivaria brewery by the staff of the National Historical Archives of Belarus

On October 10, 2025, the trade union committee of the National Historical Archives of Belarus organized a fascinating tour of the Alivaria brewery for the archive’s staff, where each visitor was introduced to the industrial beer production technology.

The company’s history begins in 1864, when a wooden brewery was built on the site of the current brewery by a Minsk townswoman, Rokhlya Frumkina. In 1894, Count Karol Hutten-Czapski built the steam-powered Bohemia brewery on this site. In 1896, the brewery was purchased by Count Franz Leckert, who by then already owned breweries in Mogilev and Gomel. After the 1917 revolution, the brewery was nationalized and renamed Belarus Brewery. In 1994, the brewery was transformed into Olivaria Brewery OJSC. In May 2018, the name was changed to Alivaria Brewing Company OJSC.

During the tour, guests were given a detailed account of the plant’s history and were later taken to the production facilities, where everyone had the unique opportunity to observe the entire technological process firsthand.
