Dear colleagues and veterans of the archival service of the Republic of Belarus!

I sincerely congratulate you on your professional holiday – Archivist’s Day!

Perhaps it’s no coincidence that this day is celebrated in the fall – to once again take a close look at the accumulated «harvest» of achievements, the work accomplished, and to re-evaluate it.

Archivists are the people in whose careful hands rest the historical documentary wealth of our country, its National Archival Fund. It is thanks to your daily work – often unnoticed and routine, but always thoughtful and meticulous – that this heritage comes closer to people.

You establish a connection between the past and the future – in archive reading rooms, in physical and virtual exhibitions of archival documents, in published books, in documentaries, and in numerous educational projects. That’s why digitalization is so important today. This is not only a matter of preserving the documentary heritage accumulated over generations. This is a way to convey history to the younger generation, giving them a solid, ideologically correct foundation for shaping their worldview in the digital space.
