Employees of the Vitebsk Region State Archives participated in the dialogue platform «Unity is Our Strength!»
On September 16, the Vitebsk Regional Library named after V.I.Lenin hosted a regional dialogue platform for the Zheleznodorozhny District of Vitebsk dedicated to National Unity Day, titled «Unity is Our Strength».
The event included a screening of the film «Reunification» from the collection of the Belarusian State Film and Photo Archives, accompanied by a presentation by the event’s speaker, Tatyana Vladimirovna Buevich, Deputy Director of the Vitebsk Region State Archives, on the historical foundations of the holiday. Other speakers at the event included: Alexander Sysoyev, Head of the Zheleznodorozhny District Administration of Vitebsk; Natalya Tkacheva, Chair of the Board of the Vitebsk Regional Branch of the Belarusian Society «Knowledge»; Anatoly Dulov, Head of the Department of History and Cultural Heritage at P.M. Masherov Vitebsk State University; and Anastasia Karabanova, winner of the Vitebsk City Youth Prize «Time of the Young».
During the discussion on the significance of National Unity Day, it was emphasized that only through unity can a nation be strong. And the Belarusian people are the bearers of historical truth and justice. Today’s sovereign Belarus is the result of the national reunification that occurred in 1939.
