«A Day in History»: archivists of the Zonal State Archives in Molodechno have prepared a virtual exhibition dedicated to the history of the reunification of Belarus in archival documents

On March 18, 1921, a peace treaty was signed in Riga, which marked the end of the Soviet-Polish war. The treaty established the borders between the RSFSR, the Ukrainian SSR, the BSSR and the Polish Republic. The territory of Western Belarus went to Poland and remained part of it until September 17, 1939. Thanks to the liberation campaign of the Red Army in 1939, the Belarusian people were reunited. The unity restored then allowed Belarus to survive the Great Patriotic War, take a worthy place in the world community and become one of the co-founders of the UN.

National Unity Day, September 17, serves as another reminder of the resilience and self-sufficiency of the Belarusian nation and statehood, and creates a sense of belonging to the country and the destiny of each citizen.
